For those who have never experienced western Kansas winds, it can be brutal. Brutal enough to toss semis over. I applaud this semi driver for saving his rig.

Ugh, I miss Manhattan. Shocking, I know.

I'll have to take you word for it. There is no image, moving or still.

It's been windy as hell in Austin. I'm beginning to wonder if this is the new normal.

Yeah, we were 25 degrees below normal for 2-3 days. This is the middle of May! WTF?

As someone who regularly drive Western Kansas (Dodge/ Garden area) I hate windy days. Especially when it is blowing south. I have to countersteer the wind until a truck comes then it tries to suck me under its wheels with the vacuum... 4 hours of this each way on 2 lane black top... And the smell of millions of cows!

Whoops the link didn't stay with the post. It should be there now.

I'm from Garden City, unfortunately. We just kind of get used to the wind, but nobody gets used to those feed yards.

Manhattan is sweet. I love how people here think 10 mph is windy though. Back in southwest Kansas we would consider that to be a breeze.

I still remember the first time I got to Kansas. Drove from Denver to Manhattan. So much corn. And, humidity is absolutely shocking when my idea of high humidity was 30 percent.

Geez, the worst is when you hit a pocket of concentrated cow air... Instant gag and hope you have the AC set to recirc and the windows up... Instinct is to roll the windows down, but it won't save you there!
